Why buy a Computer Jigsaw

People will buy, or make a donation in exchange for a Computer Jigsaw.

You can sell the same Computer Jigsaw over and over again.

Everyone loves to do Jigsaws, and what better than a Computer Jigsaw.  The pieces can't get lost and you can't knock it over.  You don't have to do it in one go, you can save your position and come back to it later.

The Jigsaw will have your organisation's message on it and links to your web site.

Can I use any picture

Yes, you can use any picture, as long as it is digital and you own it or have permission to use it for a Jigsaw.  Perhaps your members could donate their photographs?  As an incentive they could have their name at the bottom of the picture.

You CAN NOT just take someone else's picture and use it for your Jigsaw, even if you did get it from the Internet.

What size and shape picture can I use

You can use square or rectangular shapes of any size.  However, I would not recommend using a picture larger than 1000 x 1000 pixels, as it may not fit onto the screen all at once.  Nobody wants to do a Jigsaw they are never going to see all at once, do they.  Pictures less than 400 x 400 pixels are a bit too small to make a good jigsaw.

The Examples Page contains a variety of jigsaws made from different size pictures.

Do I own the copyright to my Computer Jigsaw

Yes, once you have paid for your Jigsaw you own it outright.  You can do what you will with it.

What Software do I need to do the Jigsaws

You don't need any software, nor do your customers, the jigsaws are completely stand alone programs.  They don't need installing, just download them to a folder and double click them.  You can also create shortcuts to them on your desktop.

How long does it take to make a Computer Jigsaw

Normally 1 to 2 working day, but please be patient if it takes longer.  Monday is usually a bad day as people order on Saturdays and Sundays, so on Monday we usually have 3 days worth of orders to produce!

If you have not received you jigsaw by 5 working days email us   Please don't change the subject as our email program flags messages with this subject as URGENT.

I accidentally deleted my Jigsaw

Don't worry, we keep copies and will email another copy free of charge, just email us
We would encourage you to make copies of your Jigsaw as soon as possible after receiving it.

How much can I sell the Jigsaws for

That is completely up to you, you know your customers better than we do.  You set your selling price to whatever you think you can sell the Jigsaws for.  Consider the following points.

If you price your jigsaws high you will make more profit on each one you sell, but you may not sell many.
If you set your price low, you will make less profit per Jigsaw, but you will sell more.

Why can't I enter my details in an online form .

You could, but we believe it would not be a good idea.  You would be put on the spot, under pressure to enter something into the boxes.  In these circumstances you may not enter the best message for your organisation, or even think of a better message ten minutes after placing your order.

It is better that you take your time, without pressure or time constraints, and get your messages right, including spelling.  The text you supply is copied and pasted into the jigsaw, no spell checking is done by us.  You could also consult with colleagues, two heads are better than one.

Even the File Name is important , it appears on the Title Bar.  Consider the following.

Suppose your company is called Smiths, and you supply paint to the trade.  You order two Jigsaws with the file names "Smiths Jigsaw Small Banner" and "Smiths Jigsaw Large Banner".  Good file names, they describe what the file is.

But these file names appear in the title bar.  Wouldn't it be better to call the files "Smiths for Trade Paint" and "Smiths Paint for the Trade"  Then when they appear in the Title Bar they are sending out a message about your company.  The same applies to Fund Raising Organisations.  "Hungry Child" is a better file name than "child3".

The File Name can be up to 40 characters, but can only contain letters, numbers and spaces, no other characters.

So please, take some time to think about the File Name, Title Bar Message and Jigsaw Completion Message before you order.

See the Screen Shots Page to see an example of a Title Bar Message and a bad example of a File Name.

Why are most of your example Jigsaws of the same picture

Because they are only samples.  The purpose of the examples is to show you what it is like to do a Computer Jigsaw, how they work, different size pieces and different size pictures.  The picture on the jigsaw is irrelevant in this case.

Originally all our example jigsaw were of the same picture.  But so many people asked this question we had to throw in a few different ones just to keep them quite.

We didn't mind, in a way it helped us make a point.  People will only do the same jigsaw so many times before they want a different picture.  The more pictures you have to offer, the more people will buy them.

If the people who are evaluating the jigsaws, with a view to selling them, are coming back for different ones, what will their customers do?

I copied my Jigsaw on to a CD and it won't run

Unfortunately the Jigsaws cannot be run from a CD, they must be copied onto a Hard Drive to run.

The jigsaw program creates a temporary file when it is run.  It cannot write to a CD, so it cannot create the temporary file, therefore it will not run.

We suggest you print the words "Copy to Hard Drive", or words to that effect on the CD.

It is possible to run a Jigsaw from a floppy disc, but they will be very slow.  We suggest you treat them the same as CDs.
